"This

the general population and the technology community. The
Basic Security section is focused on the average person.
The Advanced Security section will be of interest to technologists,
senior management and legislators.
Direct access to security information makes this site unique.
Within a few clicks, you should have direct access to what
you are looking for. If you can't find what you need, please
let us know We will do our best to assist you. This site

Awareness Tips for All
Personnel
Security tips are a key component to any awareness program. They should advise of best practices
and reinforce policy. These tips are written with the average person as the intended audience.
The site randomly displays information security tips. Companies can use it internally to educate
their user community. The site and script are free to download.
SECURITY
AWARENESS GROUP
In April of 2003, Gideon established the Yahoo Security Awareness
group. A letter to the editor of CIO
Magazine generated much of the initial membership.
Yahoo
Security Awareness Group
The threat of social engineering has increased due to a recent
focus on systems security (e.g. firewalls, OS hardening, IDS,
etc.). In other words, hackers may consider it easier to gather
information through a few phone calls and complain to the
help desk that they can't get in through VPN. The best way
to defend against social engineering is a solid security awareness
program. It is also a critical component of an information
security program.
"The
security awareness group provides a forum to discuss awareness
program methodologies and share security awareness tips.
Those interested in learning more about information security
will benefit benefit from the exchange of tips and the opportunity
to ask questions."
